Blogging with Students

There are so many reasons why blogging with students is a good idea. The most important may be that it gives students an authentic task. They have a real audience and a real purpose for writing, which increases motivation. The most important reason may be that the common core standards expect students to write non-fiction. Our blogs will be descriptive reports, giving students excellent practice. The most important reason may also be that students need to become familiar with online tools for expression. We live in an age when we can all publish just about anything, using a variety of technologies. I will use this blog to help students learn how to publish quality work as well as to become critical consumers of information published by others.
